unhelpful things people say when i share that i’ve hit a wall in my weight-loss goals

September 18, 2012

Count inches, not pounds.

Muscle weighs more.

Do more cardio.

Do more weights and less cardio.

Change your goal to excelling at a sport.

Change your goal to how much you can lift.

Change your goal to how long you can run.

Change your goal to calories burned in a given amount of time.

Eat more fat.

Eat more.

Hey look at this study that says that being overweight is actually healthy in myriad ways.

Hey look at this article by a celebrity about body image.

Isn’t the average size a 12 anyways?

Is this what you really want?

Maybe this is the weight you’re supposed to be.

Maybe this is what your body wants.

Well, at least you’re healthier in the long run.

Well, at least you’re maintaining your weight.

Well, you don’t look fat.
